WEEKBITZ is a once-a-week and once-a-weekend blog - for someone who hasn't a hope of posting more than twice a week!

As for the bitz - they may be weak! But overall, the aim is for just a little of the goodness my blogname's inspirational kiwi breakfast food offers to everyone in NZ, from All Blacks to All Whites, Tall Blacks to Small Blacks, Black Ferns to Silver Ferns, Black Sticks to Fiddle Sticks, and so on and on and on...

A day at the races

Having never been to see the geegees I indulged with several 'social-social' group friends, who like me were bedecked in their finery, hats included. OK mine wasn't all that fine, but I was impressed with the originality that $9 at a $2 shop could produce! Who needs to spend mega bucks only to see someone else wearing YOUR hat (this happened...)

The fashion, the live music, the people and even the horses, were all great. The weather was great if you could score some shade...my water I left in the car testified to the ability of the heat to darn near boil liquid, my Pump bottle was bordering being too hot to drink when I retrieved the car to go home.

Best part of the day undoubtedly was my date in the evening - Kris and Jenny's south african style bbq up in the hills, fabulous property with rural outlook, peeps of the ocean and a lovely vista that included the south island - not forgetting the excellent company! As the sun slid below the horizon various birds celebrated the welcome coolness and the amazing lightshow that the clouds and setting sun combined to create, while we set about toasting marshmallows. Yum.

Co-mingled recyclables here!

Apart from seeing all that rubbish, mostly unnecessary packaging, happily mingling in a recyclable cocktail, there are many odd sights at the tennis..ANZ have kindly put up a tent, a COLD tent, for relief from the heat - but - wait for it - it is a nice temperate 18 degrees! They don't realise how mild that is!!! Oh well, if that doesn't cool you off enough there is always a nice ice cube massage...I think some of their cubes ended up in the hot food kitchen though, cooled off the chips nicely that we decided were needed to warm us up Sunday night! It is very odd sitting at the shaded end of the Hisense Arena, in arguably some of the best seats, wearing a hoodie over your top and with your 'sweat' towel warming your thighs, watching those in the sun at the side of the court fanning themselves with programmes and regularly applying more sunscreen, whilst wincing into the glare! Happily Monday we are at the warmer shaded end, warmer because we will be sheltered from the southerly breeze, that same one we get in Wellington blowing up from Antarctica! Adios amigos, a demain!

You see how unreliable I am as a blogger...

I have just enjoyed a 36 degree day watching tennis at the Melbourne Tennis Centre. Great game between some lesser lights of the tournament made a ticket to the Hisense Arena (#2 indoor arena) well worth it. But - can I really watch another Aussie Open (my fourht) and NOT see the great man himself, ie Roger, in a live match...watch this space, as of now I don't have a ticket to Rod Laver Arena for tomorrow when he plays there, and they are sll sold out. So Monday is the next possibiity...and I have found that fake tan keeps coming off on the white sheets even after multiple showers - however my body still looks like I have taken to nude sunbathing so that's gotyta be good! Off to watch Nadal match on tv and tomorrow will don my new perfume - Ed Hard's Love and Luck (I could so with some of both) for my great nephew's birthday breakfast before going to the tennis at 11. Ka kite ano...

It's time for my first weekend post!

Time is really 2:15am NZ Sunday - still up and about, amped from the oral steroids for the rather sinister asthma that has dogged my footsteps for a week - and my dancesteps for a few hours tonight. A friend has said I may become paranoid - are you staring at my blog - I sense you are - should I be worried? Please, let Mike and the Nutters Club be back on Radio Live tomorrow night!

So far this bug and the associated asthma have cost me two consultations (be warned, these are toxic to your bank balance if you can't make it to your regular doc and darken the non-PHO door closest to your sickbed), two pairs of sexy patent leather hush puppies, one shampoo and blow dry (ok may have had that anyway), a lipliner and eyeshadow compact, most of these purchased while waiting for scripts to be filled...then there's the Trade Me jewellery!

But the big news Saturday, literally, was a packet arriving that contained two red bras that I ordered from Big Girls Don't Cry (Anymore) in Brisbane, Oz - and they are stunning! If you have a small back and great big you know whatters at the front, brastogo.com.au has the biz for you! We are talking anything up to JJ here, not saying I can achieve that, but check out their website, it's great! Wore one tonight and felt like the sexiest she in the place - ok so it was a workingman's club, but hey, they just didn't know what they had amongst them did they!

Our little secret ;-)

No, seriously

No, seriously is a cool blogspot I just saw which has some great recipes! Home sick today but as I am able to use the pc to write a post I think I will now make a cup of tea and call my manager and ask her to send me some stuff to do for a couple of hours.

Actually a couple of hours is my limit after a night interrupted by someone repeatedly sawing wood with a rough crosscut blade...squeaking and rasping...oh, that's right, that's my lungs! Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon (all those into natural remedies please overlook this bit - I am doing honey and lemon juice straight from the fruit off my tree as well!)

The sound of my own voice is making me cough again...ka kite ano...later
Did you ever think - I can't write a blog...

Me too! Because the fundamental flaw with blogs is - someone has to write the darn things. And regularly enough and interestingly enough for people to want to read them.

But...what if you only had to write a couple of times a week, it would hardly be onerous...and you could console yourself if no-one read it, that it was your own fault for being so sporadic!

Thanks to Sue K, the idea for this blog burst in my head like a handbag at the Auckland Women's Tennis (ASB? Heineken?) - ok, so the police didn't blow that silly woman's unattended bag up, but they should have as an object lesson to those who don't READ or LISTEN to the news!

So haere mai and welcome to my erstwhile attempts at blogging - aku mihinui ki a koutou katoa!
